< Description >

Mt.Chilhyeonsan is surrounded by Anseong's Juksan-myeon, Geumgwang-myeon and Samjuk-myeon. Though only 429m tall, the mountain is beautiful in its own humble way. Chiljangsa Temple lies at the foot of the mountain. It was restored by Saint Jonghyeon during the Goryeo Dynasty in the 5th year of King Hyeonjong's reign. At the temple's entrance is the Cheoldanggan (an iron pole used to hang the flag symbolizing Buddha's virtues). Inside, there's the grand spectacle of the main temple which has endured hundreds of years of hardships. The clay statue of the Sacheonwang (Four Devas) that stands at the temple's Sacheonwangmun (Four Devas Gate) is a masterpiece that is a representative work of art of the late Joseon era.
