진주 남강 유등 축제
매년 10월 1일부터 10~16일 간 경상남도 진주시 남강 일원에서 열리는 행사. 임진왜란 진주성 전투 당시 진주성에 고립된 김시민 장군과 병사들이 군사 신호용, 통신 수단용, 왜군의 도하를 저지하는 전술용으로 남강에 등불을 띄운 것이 그 기원이라고 합니다.
꽤 오랫동안 개천예술제의 부대행사의 하나로 시민 참여등, 창작등 전시와 같이 조촐하게 진행되었으나, 2002년 독립하여 1회로 시작, 2010년과 2011년에는 문화체육관광부에서 대한민국 대표 축제로 선정했다. 2013년에는 지역축제 중 외부 방문객 수 최다를 기록했다고 합니다.

Each year from October 1 to 10-16 every years in Namgang -si, Jinju -si, Gyeongsangnam -do. In 2013, the number of external visitors was the highest among the local festivals.
